The fisherman cottages are newly rebuilt and origin from the 1870’s with modern high standard in all facilities where you can take the pulse of Lofoten’s charm and tradition, while enjoying modern comfort. All units have modern bathrooms with heated tile floors for perfect comfort, great beds and an authentic atmosphere that is difficult to find elsewhere in the world. If you are looking to rent fisherman’s cottage (rorbu rental), Hattvika Lodge is one excellent option!

Hattvika Hillside is ten newly built exclusive, free standing hotel rooms raised on the top of Hattvika with an extraordinary view – finished summer 2020. This completes the alternatives for our guests together with our sixteen units of traditional fisherman cottages/rorbu units. Hattvika Hillside is suitable for the modern tourist who wants to explore the Lofoten islands both in a traditional and new way. Hattvika Hillside is equipped with a spacious entrance hall, modern bathroom and a great studio main room with spectacular views. Here you also find a station for coffee/tea, and a small fridge

To provide guests with the ultimate adventure, we provide sea kayaking with a guide, guided hiking or trail running, stand-up paddling , year round photo tours as well as ski touring in the winter. We also collaborate with local activity providers including local fishermen for fishing tours out of Ballstad, boat rentals, private chefs and operators for surfing, diving and Rib-tours.​

FISHERMAN’S COTTAGE ”RORBU” Fisherman cottages (“rorbu”) surrounds the area and hereby you are settled in a authentic fisherman village. The origin fisherman cottages have for approx 150 years been shelter for fishermen and is now your getaway home. All units are newly rebuilt with modern high standard in all facilities where you can feel the pulse of Lofoten’s charm and tradition while enjoying modern comfort. All units/ apartments have modern bathrooms with heated tile floors, great beds, fully equipped kitchen and authentic atmosphere that is difficult to find elsewhere. 

HATTVIKA HILLSIDE is our approach to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity. All cabins have modern bathrooms with heated tile floors, great beds, a small private balcony and a cosy seating area right next to a huge window (to either watch the northern lights or the midnight sun).

Arctic taste, authentic feel

We serve authentic dining experiences of high quality – always with a big smile. Our main goal is to produce good and traditional food from local suppliers, while focusing on what the sea in Lofoten provides for the season.
The menu will be based on daily catched seafood delivered to our doorstep, or dried/salted fish. Our restaurant will be able to host up to 100 guests; 75 in the restaurant, 15 in the board meeting room(Chambree Separee) and 10 in the reception/lounge area. We also have a private rooftop balcony available for guests.
